building a forest

    in regards to spacing , it all depends on the types of trees being planted. coniferous trees will grow wider , so would want them a bit more spaced. and the deciduous dependant on the species again. some are like weeds , grow very fast, some are the hard woods which grow at a slower rate . also want to factor in sun light for them. dont want to be too overcrowded or some will suffer.

    make sure you build your forest on a big hill, then you can name it "PeredHill"
    thats cool though man, I barely have patience for a reef tank let alone a forest, best of luck to you keep us updated and K+ for sharing

    I grew up on 65 acres. My parents had bought the land and built the house, and when they bought it, the land was bare. Now it's 15+ acres of forest, fields, and orchards, with the rest farmland and gardens. My folks planted every tree there - most are pine, oak, maple, etc, and I've watched them grow through the years. Get a tractor, prepare and clean the land if necessary, and get a tree planter. Someone needs to ride behind the tractor to plant the trees as the planter does it's job. Makes quick work of planting hundreds of saplings though. Example below.

    I grew up on a 100 acre lot in central tx but was about 80% mesquite trees and rattle snakes so we didnt do much with the land, but man when it was bbq time on went the leather boots and gloves and out to collect mesquite wood we went lol
