Well I have absolutely NOTHING to do today. And I'm not about to go out on the lake when it's below freezing and windy..so I'm going to make a new sump. Mine sucks. Poorly planned out..my baffles are too flimsy and bow out. I also want to incorporate a small fuge. As of now my mangroves are growing in my bubble trap. I only have 10 gallons to work with, so hopefully I can use my space as efficiently as possible.

What's going to not be a lot of fun is halfway draining my tank to slide it away from the wall since the door is literally 2mm too small to get the 10 gallon through.

Anyway..not real exciting..but figued I'd post some pictures of it here when I'm done this afternoon.

Thanks for going through the "unanswered posts" Steve haha I have the baffles siliconed in at the moment (which I have found out that I am absolutely terrible at). Just waiting for it to dry..probably won't install it til morning.

For my fuge section..should I put sand in there? It isn't very big..but it would be nice to have a little substrate for the mangrove roots and critters

It would look better if you added sand and I've heard of some people adding kitty litter under the sand to help the macro algae grow.

eh..it's only about a 60 sq. in. space..not worth going and getting a bag of kitty litter haha I have some extra sand laying around that I will put in there with a scoop of DT sand

You should let the silicone cure a minimum of 24 hours. The longer better.

I'm preetttyyy happy..managed to get the old one out and the new one in without having to drain the tank and move it away from the wall.
