We just looked at a house, the guy is remodeling the house and it is completely ripped apart. I asked him if we would commit to buying this house if he would do an in the wall stand for me. I was just wondering if there was anything that I should know, or that you must do to have a built in aquarium. The plan would be to have at least 2 sides showing. One on each side of the wall, or depending on were he could put it, I'd like 3 sides showing. Any suggestions or tips would be helpful!! Thanks!!:cheesy:

Ps... I am VERY excited, I might get the house I wanted AND the built in aquarium I have DREAMED about forever!!!!

What do you mean I can't make it too big? Make what too big? I have a 150 gallon tank. That's what I want to put in it. Do you think that is too big?

Well for a tank that size, that is going to be a reef tank; a large amount of equipment is going to be needed. Incorporating a room for the equipment and accessing it would be very beneficial to not only reducing stress on you guys but also the fish and corals themselves.
Goodluck however, plan and be patient.

Yes, I am planning on a reef tank. I have pretty much everything needed for a reef, except my sump/refuge which I am trying to get done. I am trying to find a 30-50 gallon aquarium for this purpose and make one myself, with help from all of you of course.. LOl For a supply room, will it need to be right beside the tank? I was thinking this would be an excellent idea, as of right now I have no were for anything except under my tank. This is why I do not have my ro unit up yet.

Well, depending on financial situations and plumbbing and electrical expertise, you can put the room anywhere to be honest. But the further away it is the more plumbing and electrical needed. Honestly, the room beside the tank is just best for all kinds of reasons. Just simply makes things easier unless the room is super small..
Anyways, i gotta midterm to run for...

With an in wall tank you could have everything mounted below the tank as well, much like a traditional stand set up. Just saying it in case having a dedicated room is out of the question. Put the tank nice and high up in the wall and leave lots of room for stuff below.

Also, if you are going in wall, don't you have the urge to go bigger than 150?

Good luck and let's see pics. :)

I would definitely love to go bigger, if the price was right and I could find one. LOL But, with buying a new house and the 5% down money isn't flowing.. lol ;) I think a separate room for it would be much easier, and I don't think it will be a problem for him. The house is HUGE!! I am moving from a two room downstairs and two room upstairs to a 5 room downstairs, 6 room upstairs. (HOPEFULLY) So, BIG difference.. lol That's not including the bathrooms either. He is planning on putting two full and one half bath.
