Bulb temp??

    What difference does te temp actually make? I can buy an ati 10,000k or a guismenn 6500k daylight.... I wanna know if the temp makes a noticeable difference.

    Lower temperature bulbs have been associated with a more brown colored coral and faster growth. Higher temperature bulbs tend to give better colors and slower growth. I would suggest getting 12000K daylight bulbs over 10000K which I would suggest over 6500K. 6500K work great for planted tanks.

    Used to.use 6500 on a 30g quazi reef. Good growth but got some algae and it.gives the tank.a yellowish look as oppossed to blue. I use the ati and. believe its 12000k. Alot of newer led units.are imcorporating a few 6500s i guess to balance out the spectrum. I wouldnt mind adding some 6500 to my 90 as that spectrum is really only good for shallow penetration it would only benefit the higher up coral.
    If i do add it will be only for a couple of hours/day. Sort of like a high noon period.
