Something that is bulbous and purple/green on one of the rocks, has been growing and multiplying lately. Dont know what it is, but its kinda cool looking. These are the best pics I could get:

Valonia or green bubble algae with coralline growing on it. It's a nuisance algae. It's a pain in the rear.....

Just a nuisance though? Nothing detrimental to the tank?
I had an emerald crab for a while and he never touched the stuff, aren't they supposed to go after the bubble algae?

If you are very careful, you can pluck these out of your tank. Now if you mess up and "pop" it....... Your going to have a bubble-population jump faster than flies on..... Well, you know what I'm getting at.

I am not sure they are algae... they are very hard, not soft like I think an algae would be. They have been in there since day one, its on one of the first pieces of live rock I ever got. They are multiplying, but fairly slow. Have increased since I added good lights and better flow.

None taken. You posted on my thread about pics and know I have never claimed to be an artist;)
Im having trouble getting better pics, they are very small. About 2-3mm high, same in diameter.
I never intentionally fed the emerald. He didnt last long, either, so they may have been something wrong with him from the get-go. And since I have touched them, I am not sure they are an algae (see above post).

Bubble algae are very hard to touch, but still poppable (not quite to the extent that everybody makes them sound like however). Try pulling one away from the rock, if it pulls away, its bubble algae, if it doesnt its likely loch ness monster babies, or something other than bubble algae ;)
