So I transferred all my coral from my 10g (10- 12 inches high) with 2x24 hagen bulbs. I now have them in my 56 (22 inches deep) that has 4x39 ati/uvl bulbs. I notice when i have the ati blue plus on everything looks normal (my acan is my major concern here) when I power on the ati special blue and uvl 75.25 (just switched from two special blues today) some things shrink slightly. My acan goes really in. I had it about mid tank, it started on the bottom and I tried to move it up slowly because I though it needed more light. I thought the depth of the tank would make me need a 6 bulb configuration but I guess my 4 bulbs are more then strong enough? My only guess is that the hagen bulbs were kind of old (9mnths) and these are brand new so maybe there super powered compared to what they were use too. THoughts?

Hagen brand doesn't have the PAR of ATI and UVL to start with. There is also a corresponding increase in PAR as the bulb length increases.

yea I knew the hagens were crappy and one was pure actinic, I just wanted that tank to have some lps like frog spawn and hammers. But I thought with the depth of this tank it would even out. Guess I was wrong, and I'll put the acan back in the sand.
