    Thanks PACK!

I was just thinking. I will be placing four bulkheads in the bottom of my tank for the closed loop system. Should I put the bulkheads in then use some type of adhesive like Weld on #16 or silicone just to make sure I never have a leak and have to tare the whole tank down?

If you don't use something like silicone tape it won't matter how tight the nut is it will still leak. The water moves through the threads.

On my closed loop bulkheads, on the inside of the tank as the bulkheads were seated, I had black silicon underneath the bulkhead which squished around it as it was attached. Excess wiped off so it's nice and neat and will not leak.

Did you still use the gasket or just silicone?

Both. Gasket on the inside, but I didn't want to take a chance. There is still a clean bead of black silicon around each bulkhead. No leaks. Make sure you tighten the bulkheads down tightly, but don't over torque.
