I have a tank with two inch holes drilled into the bottom of it. What size bulkhead to I need for it? I assumed that I needed a 2" bulkhead but the description of that item online says a 2" bulkhead requires a 3" hole. I'm confused. This is my first drilled tank and my first sump. Thanks for your help.

The way bulkheads are labeled is but what size plumbing fits in them rather than outside diameter. Unfortunately I don't have any bulkheads on hand right now to measure for you.

if you have a 2 inch hole you will only be able to go with a 1.5 inch pipe. depending if you are useing schedual 40-80

you need to find a bulk head that says use 2 inch hole and just plumb off that size pipe.
