Ok not sure if this is the right section or not, but I will be drilling my 45 gallon aquarium for a sump and I would like to know what size bulkheads to drill for. I know the drain needs to be larger than the return but what sizes do I need? 1.5" for the drain a 1" for the return? If anyone has any info on the matter please help me out here.

    Thanks
    Mark

    65mm/2 1/2" for 1 1/2" bulkhead will work with both sch40 & sch80

Maybe I didn't ask the right question, I need to know what size bulkheads I need for the drain and return?

typically a 3/4" for the return line and 1" for the drain line... as you get into the larger tanks the lines tend to increase to handle more flow volume but you don't need to worry about that with a 45.
