Maybe I didn't know how to use it properly, but I always had a hard time trying to align the two halves of the inner tube ever time I changed media.

Don't know if this made any sense. When you put the top on, you have to align the top tube with bottom tube inside the chamber. If the two tubes are not aligned perfectly, the top will not go on.

TLF - I have a pair of these. I dont' like that you cannot hard mount them. You have to remove them completely to change media.

I have really been eyeballing the BRS one. I have been wondering about the different flow rates as well.

GHP is going to be GPH no matter what is first.

Carbon does not "need" higher flow, it can just handle higher flow that GFO. GFO is going to be the limiting factor.

thanks for all the responses everyone. im going to wind up trying this unit when the time comes. im just trying to build a list of all the things i need when i setup my 75g reef. i figured this thing looked good, killed two birds with one stone. i dont know that its necessary to have it RIGHT away when i set up the tank, but i like to have all things researched beforehand :)

    courtster - looks great!

I emailed Ryan @ BRS about the two singles vs dual reactor flow issue, this was his response.

Also I believe BRS recommends GFO first and Carbon second so the carbon can catch any fines that come off the GFO.
