I would think finding the air leak will fix most of the noise.

If you smoke, you could always use a cigarette. Maybe incence? You can use smoke to see where it is pulling.

You can pull the airline speed fitting off the body and cap with finger to rule out anything up stream of that.

You can try to pour water around the upper hose barb fittting to see if it gets pulled in. Try using water to pour over the injector body to see if that can be drawn in or change things to narrow it down.

There is always the possiblility that o-rings are not right. The orange one and the small black one could leak, but that should be water. Unlikely I know.

Once you go through all the obvious, then you have to start getting systematic and not taking things for granted. Like what was said about the ozone fitting cracked or what not.

Air is obviously bypassing the air in take. Everything is suspect. Anything you can do to suck water or smoke, or anything you can do to put around stuff to change the sound, or flow.

Heck, maybe you can use electrical tape to start going around cracks. Should seal things up and not leave a buch of goo when you take it off. Just talking temporarily to track down the source.

I hate it when things happen on the weekend and nobody is around.

Good ideas! I like smoke better than air. I try not to light up around the tank, but this could be an exception 8)

Start here Zach.... use electrical tape around the lid and body, to rule out the o-ring you put in. So we can rule out that that interface is indeed sealed.

Doing this in the AM. I appreciate your suggestions and help!

The skimmer has pulled out quite a bit of junk as of now, the waste container stinks need to put carbon in there and is about 1/4 full of yellowish brown liquid

It has stopped foaming in the riser and the water level is low and is kind of boiling

Lots of micro bubbles (need some sort of bubble trap but there isn't room left in the sump)

The Jack of Daniels has called for the night

    Zach ... OUT.

Jack has a way of putting problems in a different light.

    Late.

Yea... I'm a bit tired though. I'm just happy to see it skimming. It started foaming (improperly) better than my old skimmer ever did when it was doing what it was supposed to do. Still very happy with it. Just need to get the kinks ironed out. My old skimmer looks like a toy compared to this one. I'll take a pic of what I'm upgrading from tomorrow so you can see. The pump on my old one is not even half the size of the Mag 12  The riser is twice the size of the chamber on the Suncoast.

Make sure you are not turning the skimmers air on full blast as it will just churn the water inside the chamber. The valve should only be 1/2 to 2/3 open, never have it fully open. The bubbles in your picture should be smaller then that.

OK - the air is leaking in around the twist-lock. I can actually move it up and down slightly by pressing on the injector assembly when it's attached and can hear the air noise decrease as I depress it. I have no way to make it tighter. Any ideas?

You are up early. I'm going to bed.

Is the O-ring correct? Can you get a thicker one? You can try to seal it up with tape and let it get to work until you talk to PM tomorrow. Tape for now. Silicone is a bit more of a mess. I don't know if there is supposed to be a gasket there or a o-ring.
