I run a Bullet 3 and I run the water 2" past the ring connector where you detach for cleaning. Set that level with no air on.

Otty - so you mean to let the riser fill completely with water, and set the water level 2" into the neck??

I do not say much around here anymore but take this for what ever you feel its worth the water level is a tad to high for the bullet 2 and the air is to low and the pump looks to be a tad over kill .
I would cut off all air then adjust the water level to about 1/2 inch up into the riser tube above the mixing box then open the air inlet valve to about 3 or 4:00 O'Clock . I see all that water setting in that riser at the base and that tells me you are not getting enough air in there and not mixing the bubbles and water well enough . Once its stable and running well you can tweak that blue handled valve to get maxium performace from it . But if you ovber tweak it will flood. You may try adding more air with the high of water level that may also dial it in
    for you ?
And as for that little cup you are using best toss that and get the correct shut off skimmate holding collection vessel .
That skimmer will flood your floor if it ever went crazy and they sometimes do just thats.
Now this is just free advice take it for what its worth But I have played with the Bullet series a long time and they like tyhe ETSS and Aqua C will go crazy and pull outy gallons of water ..

Right on about the collection cup. You're going to have a major flood there.

I went over kill on the pump because I wanted to be able to upgrade and not worry about pumps, as it is now its feeding the main tank and also a carbon reactor. I will adjust and post later.

ok if I turn it to the 9 o'clock it shuts the air off, if its at high noon its full open for air, I set it so that the water is 1inch in the first riser, and then opened the air to high noon, then reset the water level to 1 inch, it looks like its simmering very well now, as for the bucket, I am going to get one as soon as I get an auto top off

ok so I have had this thing going for a week now and all I am pulling out is about a full jug of water that has a little bit of green to it, no where near the stuff that everyone else is pulling out, I have the air set to full open, and I would say more then 3/4 of the water is going to the skimmer that the pump is pushing. what am I doing wrong? I know this tank is got to be putting out waste but I am just not seeing what the skimmer should be pulling out. I am confused. can anyone help?
