A mag 24 runs 265watts and you can only get 2,400pgh at 0 head. I would go with a Reeflo Barracuda that uses only 236 watts and will pump a whopping 4,500gph and it external to the water so you won't have heat transfer to water.
Almost twice as much gph and less power use. No brainer to me.

It cost a little more but it would be just like buying 2 Mag 24's. Plus you can just put a valve after the output and dial it back if needed and it will use less wattage. This way you will not be undersized on a pump for your aquarium.

Plenty of room for expansion later.

Your skimmer and reactors will eat up a lot of the gph plus head pressure. All you do is put a valve on it and just dial it back if not need. It uses less energy when you dial it back.

Oh and yes I like the idea of expansion later. LOL I have to get this one going first though.

Ca reactor, PO4 reactor, carbon reactor....they will all take gph to run.

I have the panworld 150 also as my main pump and it seems to be a little quieter.

From the pump otty recommended I would definitely only need one pump and that will handle the skimmer and return and if I decide to run reactors it would handle all those to. I think I like the one pump plan. Thanks for the input and those directions is exactly what I was looking for.
