    Fresh water puffer fish are no different then salt, and can actually be acclimated to a salt tank.

    From what i remember fresh water puffers, when they eat they get a big swollen belly, but as soon as its digested it goes right down again, so i think what your seeing is normal.

    Now if you are worried that she has a parasite, there is a treatment that you soak the food in to make them poop it out. It might be myaxin but i can't remember.

    yah thanks i called a trustworthy lfs and they gave me that medication to soak with the food/
    however the statement about all puffers can go into sw isnt true. including these little guys
