Ive heard of work horse ballasts, but I didnt know they made fixtures. From what I understand, the workhorse ballasts are so-so. Also, I happen to be very picky about ebay feedback......he has 2 feedbacks that put me off without even looking at warranties or quality.

If you only have fish, I wouldnt even worry about the MH at this juncture. Wait until you have the corals. As far as how long of a photo period, I would first look at the lighting conditions they came from and try to mimic the same conditions. For ex. what kind of lighting(MH, T5, Pc and so on), the wattage of the bulbs and how long does the LFS keep them on.

Ive had multiple customers warp out that exact hood with just pcs, I think a MH would kill that in short order. I like the looks of the series but cannot believe the materials used in its construction.

Here's the deal... just purchased the set for 399.99 with free shipping.
Ebay seller guarantee's satisfaction or full refund. I also have a 5 year warranty.
I can tell you I ran the sundial t5 ho x 4 at 54 watts with no heat issues sitting above the tank in the canopy... and I'm currently running 4 x 110 watt VHO retro lighting in the same canopy with no warp or heat issues...
I replaced the 4 x t5 ho because i didn't feel it was enough wattage...
I am replacing the VHO lighting because it's wayy too much electricity and too purple tint looking...
The MH with t5's should be just the ticket to start my reefing ... but I will be closely monitoring the heat and warp issue... and will post follow up material on this thread. Still looking for anyone who maybe has this set for input or someone who dealt with this ebay seller...

Im really interested in how this works. Not in a pessimistic way, but just to get some real feedback instead of "I heard this from this person".
