I'm going to be ordering a gfo reactor and pump tomorrow but want to make sure I'm going to get the most bang for my buck.
I'm leaning towards a BRS reactor but don't know if I could have the single model for 39.99 or the deluxe for 49.99 or if I need the jumbo model for 129.99
I have a tall 150 tank and have had .25 phosphate forever.
Looking for opinions on which reactor I should go with and the best pump for them. I'm open to any brand if there's a better one then BRS

Get the jumbo or the double. I have a 120 with 2 of the standards and I really like the reactors

I got Spectrapure double. It's basically just like BRS double, but has individual flow control valve for each reactor.

That's the downside for the BRS double right? You can't give the gfo side more flow then the calcium side
Could I get the double and just run both chambers with gfo? I don't think I have a need for carbon

Seems like a lot of GFO for 150. Go with single maybe?

you won't need both chambers for gfo....I would do one carbon and one gfo

I would think a upflow reactor might work better but then again I have no experience with the BRS reactor and many have them.

That's another good thing about Spectrapure. One chamber is upflow.

If I'm not mistaken on what "upflow" is, the brs is upflow. Water comes in, down the sides and up through the middle of the media

What's the carbon supposed to help with? All my levels are good except my phosphate. I'm having an outbreak of several types of algae, mainly cyano. I have 4 hydor korelia 750 power heads and my 650 Gph return
