Does anyone know a good contact/seller for large colonies of SPS? It seems more and more that all I can find are frags.

Its getting expensive but they are some real colonies around still just seems all anyone wants nowdays are starter kit corals ):
Its a two sided sword .. Corals grown and kept in captivity for yrs are tougher then the new larger ones right from the ocean.. And all Cultured large colonies are very expensive.

look for people who are taking down there tanks.there are people who do nothing but go around buying up peoples stuff when they take down there tanks and frag it all out and sell it on reef sites.i knew a guy that did that for money while in college.anyway, you can get big corals that way.

I know I'm new here, and don't know a darn thing about corals yet. But, for 4 years, I've read a LOT. Is there a local reef club you can get some frags from? It might be an idea to start small, let them grow.... Perhaps joining a local group will get you some good stuff. Anyway, I've heard this can happen. Plus, you get to talk fish with people who know. Just a suggestion. If I'm way off base, everyone should let me know. Eventually, I had considered doing this.

Yes that is a great way to get frags and learn lots. But I was looking for larger SPS colonies. I am very active in my local reef club, just wondering if there is a secret handshake or something to get the larger colonies.
