Hello I am starting a new tank and looking for someplace near Sarasota that I can buy dry rock to add to it. I will also be transferring all my live rock from my old tank to the new tank. New tank is a 72 bowfront old tank is a 37 tall so I need a lot more live rock;D. No point in paying big money for live rock if I can get a bunch of dead rock locally cheap. Can you just get it from a quarry? Will they sell it to you? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

look in the yellow pages of the local Phone company and look for Quarries there is one not to far from that area .. last time I hit a quarry the base rock was 10.00 a ton that was in 2000.. Then look for any construction site where they are digging a footer or road work I have been paid to haul it off :)
I saw a huge pile once and the project at a Hotel we where staying in .. They gave me 100.00 to haul the pile away LOL I filled up the tow trucks bed and the hull of th race boat and the empty storage box's on the Boat trailers frame All of Florida is built on the stuff
