We currently have a 2010 nissan maxima, it doesn't get over 23 mpg. I was going easy just to try to get it over 25. it was hard. With my heavy foot i get around 22.. which i think is pretty bad for a 2010 v6, but it is heavy and fully loaded. the 2008 was a different style than mine though.

Test drove the nissan today, it is nice. Wants to go fast all the time. Gas mileage will suck on it. They only would budge 1k down to 18995. by the time you got it out the door with it was like 20990. They tried to rush me into making a decision right then so i said no and left. With a trade in i hit my monthly payment I wanted but I'm sorry I don't agree to 20k because youre gonna pressure me there was another buyer. felt bad about it earlier but glad i didnt now think im going to buy a couple wrasses to make me feel better:)

LOL perfect! Wrasses are much cooler! And when they pressure ya, just say, "so what, I'll find another one. heard of the internet?" Congrats on walking away! When they call, tell them you're initial offer and to not call back unless its a deal! There are tons of deals out there!

Good for you. Don't let them make the decision for you.
One thing to note about the 2011 Sonata - see if it has the rear view camera. The Sonata has serious blind spots out the back with a small rear window. I absolutely rely on my rear view camera. I suck at parking, just note my observation.. and drive it to be sure either way. Just wanted to point that out. I don't think the 2011 came with the camera stock. THe 2012 do.
