So one of the "Big Pet Stores" sells a 5 gallon jug of rdy to go saltwater for $12...anyone ever get this? It didn't have a company brand name except Petco...OOOPS! I know I will eventually get a RO unit but currently just buy gallon after gallon of distilled and make my own.

If you plan on buying it be sure to test it before using it in your tank. Many times you don't get what it says on the label.

I know it might be more convenient to get the prepared water, but think about the cost difference. I don't know what kind of salt mix and what not you use but for me, salt is about $15 for a 50gal supply. I get RO water from one of those walmart fill-up stations for $.30 a gallon and mix my own stuff. It all works out to about $.60 per gallon of saltwater. But hey, that's just me. If you want to go for the prepared stuff have it but just be sure to test it before you use it.

Yep. It's a Culligan RO station. It even has a UV sterilizer bulb on it too. I was stoked when I found it. You have to buy the bottle first for like $1.50 and then after that as long as you bring your bottle back, refills are only $.30. Definitely beats buying distilled.
