Yes I agree. I've been through bryopsis but got lucky with a strain that M-Tech would kill. And now bubble algae is getting out of control. Base rock would have prevented both of these.

I think I may end up just ordering Pukani Dry rock from Bulk Reef supply. Can anyone suggest maybe a better Dry Rock supplier?

I've bought the LA live rock before and I will say I really have mixed reviews about it. First it is very dense rock. the 25lbs package got me like 6 big rocks & a couple hand sized one.
Next it came fairly muddy & had a good amount of die off on it. I probably had 2-3 lbs of gunk in the tub after curing. Biological value though I would say I did a pretty good job. For the price & reputation from LA its hard to beat in the area. I live in the middle of no where and there really just wasnt an alternative. The closet "LFS" that sold rock was an hour away, so gas or shipping it balanced out. Knowing what I know now having been in the hoby it would be a tough call to get me to order the LR from them again.

For ordering base rock you cant go wrong with rock from BRS and marcorocks. I have ordered both. My marco rocks are pictured in my sig's build thread. I would also recommend rock from reefcleaners as well. While I havent used his rocks, I would still recomend them based on A+ over all quality from John & reefcleaners.
