lots of different species of byropsis, so +1 to a pic of the structure. magnesium sulfate raised to 1600+ and left there seems to do the trick for everyone that has used that, Kent M uses magnesium sulfate.

well packleader said it usually doesnt grow on the glass and i have posted a different thread that explained my issue with my first bloom after cycling. Many people have said that they had the same brown diatoms on rocks and sand and green hair like stuff on the glass (which was growing from a tan/brown base. So i am gonna stick with scrapping the glass and blasting the rocks to see if it clears up on its own. Some said it would.

Yeah, it usually won't grow on glass, not unless that is where it has to go next at least.

I had it bad in my old 35g.

Raise mg to at least 1600, if not 1800 and that would do the trick if it is bryopsis. Apparently the test kits for mg are a joke, so while you may think you have 1600ppm, you might have 1400ppm of mg. That is why you need to raise it to 1800 ppm.

You an use epsom slats instead of wasting $$$ on kent products.

That's only for certain types. Some won't respond to anything. I do agree that after looking at the pictures, it could be bryopsis, but it may not be either. Although I've never seen an algae bloom like that on the glass before just after cycling.
