    Hello Highdesertreef
brands - Salifert, Elos and API all have good reputations for producing good quality test kits

Calcium, just started using the Tropic marin Calc and Magnesium kit. Its complicated, but actually enjoyable to use

I dont know if I trust API for alkalinity and ca, I test using them and they show lower then if I were to have the LFS test. For instance I tested for DKH with the API kit and it reads 7 but the LFS test using their kit and it reads 10. Ca test using API reads as 380 but LFS reads out at 440.....thats just my opinion

Have you checked to make sure they're not expired?

I use API for alk and ca and I find it easy to use and accurate when compared to my LFS...

I use API for my basic testing already. Way more accurate than the LFS. Also I have found that the water sample can be easily tainted in LFS samples.
