Let it ride. Those numbers will fall by themselves.

Those numbers are not bad at all...They almost look where they should be, and if their not, they will come down over time and with water changes.

I like my Ca at 460-480
    Mg at 1300 - 1350
    Kh at 10

Sometimes my Ca drops to 420 then I dose to bring it back up, same with Mg....sometimes it will drop to 1200...then I dose.

IMHO, you are good. Nothing wrong s long as your calcium is not precipitating out of the water. I like my Ca close to 500

I have also heard the if you Mg is too low you can't get your dKH up to proper levels

Magnesium acts to keep calcium and carbonates (alkalinity) from combining in the water. So, with a low mag, you can get a high dKH, but your clacium would be very low as a result.

I disagree. A water change to solve this is the wrong approach IMO. First, I don't see a problem that needs fixed. Second, a WC is a lot of work :laughings

    Agreed

    Agreed.

Your numbers are even low from my standards. I keep my Mg at 1420-1500, at 1420 I dose enough to raise it to 1500.

I keep my Ca in the 450 area, but 500 isn't uncommon for me after a WC (which is rare).

My dKH hangs around 12. I have kept it at 14 for a spell to see what happens... Chalice's don't like it over 13 I have found ;) But otherwise, I didn't notice anything other than my zoas quit growing. Back at 12 and chalice color is back and zoas growing again. So don't let high numbers freak you out.

What you do not want to do is do a big WC and make them jump in the other direction (why I disagree w/the above quote). They'll fall on their own and slowly. A WC will be dramatic(ish) and consistency is key here.

WC should be for emergencies and this is not one.
