As I said on my last Cadlights review, they have a nack for breaking the molds and creating a all-in-one system that isn't matched by any other manufacturer. Their 39 gallon cube system is no exception. Our 39 gallon came with the metal halide, T5, L.E.D. combo light and as with all their tanks is made from curved corner starphire glass for crystal clear viewing. It also comes with built in filtration which includes space for a skimmer, built in refugium and mechanical filtration. The kit also included a refugium light, slick little cooling fan and glass top.

The first thing I noticed when I cut open the box was the size. After un-boxing quite a few little cube tanks, I really didn't expect this massive tank to be in the box. It's huge! The seamless front corners give it an awesome scaled up JBJ pico look, and the rear corners are smoothly siliconed. The tank bottom is over-sized leaving a nice beveled lip all the way around. The filtration system in the rear is both amazing and a little confusing. Two overflows feed into the rear with one going through the mechanical filters and one going strait into the refugium. This designs gives only half the flow to the refugium giving it the lower flow that is desired for most macro algaes. The confusing part comes when you consider where to place your skimmer. The only compartment that maintains a set water level is the refugium, but I haven't seen the skimmers designed to run with this system, so that may not be a valid point.

The light came packed in a separate box and looks equally impressive. It boasts a 150 watt metal halide and two supplemental T5 tubes. The moonlights are two tightly packed arrays of blue L.E.D.s that look like they should throw plenty of light for nighttime viewing. The fixture sits on legs that rest on the edge of the cube, or it can be hung above the tank for that true rimless look. The glass top, or tops, comes in three pieces making it easy to uncover only the filter area, display or even just open up a small section for feeding. It's a bit difficult to get the tops in and out with the light legs sitting on the tank, but this problem is unavoidable with rimless tanks unless the light is hung.

All in all the Cadlights 39 gallon looks like a very well done little system that should be fun to get set up and running. As soon as it's done cycling, I'll have further information about how it's working.

It's just stock image of the tank, so you're not missing much. It is set up and running with some cleaners and some crazy expensive little fish in it. I'll get pictures up later today.

The tank is cycled with three $100 assessors, tube anemone and a couple of rics. I'm planning on doing all rics in this tank.
