I've used it for years. I mix 5L at a time and dose using dosing pumps. I can say with out a doubt that it is very consistent. I mix as directed by BRS and adjusted my dosing based on my tanks requirements. Basically as I adjust my dosing until I can maintain the numbers I'm looking for. I use the bulk CA and ALK to boost my water change numbers to match my tank numbers. I know the BRS chemicals are consistent because once I had my maintenance number set on my doser from batch to batch I don't have to change my dosing

been using brs products for over a year now and am very glad i did. used to use kent and brightwell products but when i started the brs products, never going back to the water based products. price wise brs is a better deal in the long run specially if you have a reef tank.
two friends of ours who owns a store and manage an aquarium maintenance swears never liked the water based products for they way too diluted and they only use powdered to mix their own. dunno what product they use but according to them that they prefer to mix their own stuff rather than buy it pre-mixed so at least they know it is made the right way. for all i know they may be using brs too :)

I would say that a 100 gallon system would benefit from the large kit more.

The difference in price between the small and large is minimal. For a small increase between the two kits you get a whole lot more for the larger one.

A system less than 50 gallons or so would do well by a small kit.

Ask away - that's why we're all here for eachother!

Some tips: get your levels correct first using the BRS calculator. So let's say for examply your roughly 100 gallon system is at 380 PPM calcium and you are targeting 440PPM - you simply enter your system volume and it will tell you how much of what supplement to dose to get your levels corrected. Once corrected then you go to the Daily dose regimen which is in partial mm/gallon. I dose about 30 mL of calcium solution every day on my 150 gallon system. I maintain about 440 PPM.

The calcium and alk suplements are easy to mix and are very soluble in water. Be sure that you use RO/DI water.
The magnesium is a PITA to mix.
Start by adding 1/3 the total of each of the two parts. Bonus points for heating up the water to about 100 degrees before using it.

If not, sit the gallon jug (with lid closed TIGHT) in your sink or a larger tub with HOT water. This will greatly speed up the dissolution of the crystals in the water.

Mix this/heat this until all of the crystals have dissolved and do another 1/3 and reapeat until all chemical is mixed.
