Cal reactor/kalk reactor maintenace

As I am ordering things like a madman and changeing my mind constantly. My current insanity is to add a kalk reactor to the mix. Using my top off and that way I cover everything but iodine. My question is... I have dripped Kalk for ever and it never fails that the line gets crusted up blech ! By using the Kalk reactor on my top off is the Float going to get clogged alot? Also How much cleaning type maintenance do both the Cal and Kalk reactor need? Is there any tricks to keep this type maintenance down? Going from dosing to these methods is cool but hate the unknowns any help is appreciated
