    Personally I would not add corals while your trying to stabilize your perimeters.

    I would also not put any buffers to the new saltwater mix . This will help as well.

    I never add to the mix anyway. After I do a water change I wait a couple days and test my parameters then I add to meet my parameters. That's only if I do a water change. The old salt I use to use I added the buffers because I know what I needed to add to make my desired parameters. But since I use Reef Crystals I don't have to do that.

    The question I didnt see was what test kit are you using. Hobby test kits are super unreliable, and testing errors can create high numbers like you have. The only reason why I ask, is it's kind of tough to have that high of Ca and Mg, and have your alk as it is. Unless you two part dose and don't dose in balance, I can't see how you can get Ca up to 500, I would get your water tested by a local with different kits then what you use.

    Im most cases, it's the high alk that you really need to worry about. High ca and mg won't be that big of a deal anyway. Just let it come down on it's own. If your mg is that high, you better not have any hair algae in the tank...lol
