calcium help

    Thanks. That makes me feel alot better. I was worried about it snowing on me. How high does it take for it to snow?

    I don't think that those high levels will cause too much problem in the short term, but if your calcium rises too much higher, you may notice some calcium precipitate building up around your canopy, sides of the tank etc.

    Well to get it down you think i should just hold back on water change? its only been about 4 days snice last 1. Or it should go down on its own as long as i dont add 2part?

    The levels needed for snowing are not set in stone, it happens when things get too out of balance, it could be low alk, too high of calcium, or low magnesium and high alk/cal, low cal and high alk etc.

    The level will go down as long as there is something in your tank using it up and you don't add the two part. Make sure you keep your alkalinity and magnesium in check though while waiting for it to drop.

    How well stocked with coral/coralline is your tank? If you don't have a lot it will take a long time to come down but that's not necessarily a bad thing as long as you keep an eye on your other params.

    Just have a few fish and 3 sps 1 feather duster snails blue leged craps etc. just started the coral hobby. had always had fish. tank been up for 3 years tho.
