calcium need advice

    I have a 75 gal. reef tank. I have a calicum level of 315, i want it to go up to 450, the problem i am having is I keep dosin my tank and the calicum level either lowers or stays at 315 any advice?

    What are your other water parameters such as alkalinity, pH, Mg, etc?
    How often are you doing water changes and what are you using to replace the calcium? Have you checked to see if your test kit is accurate?

    Calcium and Alkalinity go hand in hand. You need to know what your alk is then read my favorite article on this subject. Enjoy

    Try another brand for testing calcium. Check your alkalinity as mentioned above, the two go hand in hand. Perform a water change. What type of calcium are you using? Also when doing a water change, Reef Crystals and Kent's salt have more calcium as well as other trace minerals, than most other salt mixes.

    Alk and Mg are important. If the Mg is insufficient the CA percipitates out.
