so im still getting my parims strait after the RC incident. my calcium is low at 370 i want to raise it up to 450. this will require 350 ml of my esv 2 part buffer. now my kh is 10

so ? is can i add the calcium part 2 till i get to my 450 and not add the carbonate part.?

or do you always have to dose the part 1 and exactly the same amount of part 2 after.?

Calcium and Alkalinity by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com
Read this article from a professional... should help!
Basically, your alkalinity is too high so one of the results is a low calcium level.
I would dose calcium booster and your alkalinity level will subside...
Be aware of magnesium levels and pH also!

Hi, they can be added separately. You add the Calc (for your purpose) and watch the Alk (test every couple of days) to see the fall off of Alk from the addition of the Calc. and remember to keep Mag within the parameters of the ocean (1250-1350).

Yes, as long as your magnesium levels are where they should be.
