Lol. well I guess I'm stuck in some time capsule since I thought that I could go cheap and be just as efficient.
Now that I'm doing some more reading on CA reactors, I'm actually considering the Geo. Seems like it's the best on the market.
I've also noticed that the LifeReef Ca Reactors seem to be a cheaper substitute version of the Geo.

I thought they were just tubes to hold the crushed coral while water ran through it haha

I got a korallin 1502 for my 75g reef a few months ago. It took a few weeks of tweaking to get it working right but it's one of the best things I did for my tank so far. I was tired of expensive 2-parts (I was using B-ionic, then the 2LF brand), then I switched to mixing and dripping kalk, got tired of that too....now it's pretty much "set-it-and-forget-it" with the reactor. I was using a aqualifter feed pump but got rid of it a few wknds ago and tap off my return pump. When I was researching these the Geo and Korallin seem to be the best ones when it comes to quality/efficiency/price, I got a good deal on the Korallin.

That's weird I was just looking at the korallins before I saw your post. I just wish I could find one for around 200 that's decent. It seems like they're either 100 or 350+

Exactly. GEO has been making them the longest, and IMHO are worth the little extra they cost. it's not like they are deltec pricey. Aquatic Systems Design reactors seem to be pretty nice, definitely better than an MRC reactor. A friend had a MRC and went with an ASD and is happy with it.

I use a geo 612 on my reef tank and it sips co2. Other brands I know are not so efficient, and lower your ph with the wasted co2. Some other brands use a second chamber to keep the ph in the tank from lowering, but you are still wasting CO2.

You definitely want a ph controller on it. I would not trust a reactor on a bubble counter alone. Also, there are onlty 2 regulators that I know are good. Reef fanatic, and the aquarium plants one are good. Stay far away from a milwaukee brand reg, but the milwaukee ph controller is a good one for not a lot of money.

I use a reef fanatic reg, with a milwaukee ph controller and BRS ph probe. the milwaukee probe was fine until it wore out and gave bad readings.

A local guy by me is selling a pretty new geo 612 for a good price.

I bought mine used for 250 with no controller, but it did have a 5 lb tank and a new reef fanatic reg.

A good reactor isn't cheap, but I can say it is the best piece of equipment I have spent my $$ on.
