calibration of refractometer was wrong by 6ppt wow

i read from another thread on 3reef that you should use calibration fluid and boy were they right my c-scope was 6ppt off from using 0 dts metered water. i'm bringing it up slowly now. man you would think that the maker would give the right way to calibrate there fracto but i was wrong and i thank 3reef for this info that may have saved my reef.

 

I noticed a 3 point discrepancy after reading about using a calibrating solution on my refractometer.

 

you gotta wonder about these companys that say using water is all you have to do, there wrong as can be i was kinda mad about it

 

I can't blame you and agree. You should have a lot happier corals after you get the salinity up and stabilized.

This is something that I needed to check a long time ago. I use my ro/di water also. Question, is the calibration solution universal? Or do I need to use some specific to my refractometer?

 

i used pinpoint 35ppt solution 7$ yea check it out

 

Where do I buy the Calibration liquid? I buy the refractometer but I can't see anything. It say look for circular field, but I dont see anything. What can I do please help.
