Description- Light slimey yet hair fuzz like nastiness. Air bubbles are trapped just like the nuisance pictured above. Calothrix is a trype of blue green algae. We have them next to each other in the guide to help you distinguish the difference between the two.

i got this off a web site and wanted to know if anybody has ever had this and gotten rid of it?

look at the very top sticky, look for Dinoflagellates. I think thats what you may have. I believe I have the same stuff but mine is green. I know the algae is creating the air bubbles and not just trapping bubbles because nothing in my tank is blowing bubbles and they are every where.
Hear is mine. I added more cheato to my fuge and been doing slightly larger water changes and it seems to slowly be working.

looks like dinos. i've got them right now, but i think i'm getting ahead of them. they showed up right when i got new lights (thats not what caused them, i have a phosphate problem as well). they look like crap and i hate people seeing the tank with ol' snotbubbles hanging around. the best thing you can do in between now and getting a phosphate reactor is to suck any existent dinos off the rocks with an airline (more suck than the regular siphon) and turn your lights off for a few days. i just turned mine on after four days off with a follow up water change and all physical evidence of it is gone. if phosphates and nitrates arent kept in check, the stuff will show back up in a week.

What are your No3 and Po4 look like? Have you tested for these? Try either some phosphate filtering media or some snails. Luna

hard to distinguish the two apart. (wow i got a lot of typos in there). Calothrix is turf like, dinos are mushier. Basically if you can siphon it out with a turkey baster and just a little disruption, you got dinos. If you need a toothbrush and quite a bit of scrubbing then calothrix. As far as texture dinos are snot like, and calothrix is ear wax like. nasty stuff either way.

out of curiosity how long is your photocyle?
