Well I can spend more didn't really want to have to. It is looking alot like the 500-600$ price point is most realistic. Black Friday suggestion is a good idea thnx

I think that you will be very happy with the camera. It is very easy to use.

Panasonic lumix - mine takes amazing closeups and has a macro lens. Its only $120. Let me know if you would like me to post some pics that I have taken with it. Go with this one. Trust me.

Go used for sure if money is tight. A DSLR is key. Craigslist deals are out there--Canon or Nikon if you can swing it, but don't overlook Sony, Minolta, Olympus. They aren't the big two, but can take very good photos in their own right. If you are serious about it then you'll need a dedicated macro lens, tripod, cable release. Again, look for used.

that red legged hermit sure looks like he is one happy camper!

i think i get blued out because of the lights i use

i had read reviews and such and that was the reason i had decided on the nikon

i saw the pentax today when i was comparing options at my military exchange as well...i couldn't miss it, it was red lol...i hadn't heard anyone say anything bout those or the sony's so was unsure as to the quality.
