maybe try looking into a cheap underwater camera and placing it close to the coral rather than zooming from across the tank might work better, correct me if im wrong.....also my dad has an iphone that takes beautiful pictures but he said it all depends on which apps you buy for it, the standard camera app does not cut it....as for blue photos you can get gimp(free photo editing program) and mess with the color schemes etc to add/remove colors in your photos....my dad does stuff like this but hes got a $10,000 nikon camera though lol and his iphone looks great too but i dont know about the macro pictures on the iphone i could ask him about what apps are good but here are a few pictures taken/made with his iphone

heres an example of the power of my dads iphone, check out these pictures

    play with it and learn

lol ill ask what apps he has but i do know he has photoshop express which is one of the free ones as well as a bunch of paid ones....i asked him earlier about macro shots and he said they actually sell a kit for macro shots with the iphone but a shot through a magnifying glass will probably do the trick as well

i checked out google and i think this is the kit he was talking about

Buy.com - Professional Lens Kit For iPhone 4S - Fish Eye, Wide Angle + Macro, Black 8X Optical Zoom Telescope

    hope that helps ;D

You can find a base line dlsr for pretty cheap if you find a use one. Alot of amature photographers start out with a base line and want to upgrade to a better camera and sell their base line for a fair price. I second the fact that the lense is more important so if you get a base line dslr get a nice macro lense for close up shots. There also some really good point and shoot cameras out there with telescoping lensea built in.
