I've had this little cube tank sitting in my house collecting dust for a while. After my 29 gallon reef crashed from a Sea Urchin Dying while I was on vacation, I decided I didn't want to get back into the hobby. Well, that didn't work out as planned :D I decided to set this tank up about a month and a half ago and let it cycle.

It's done cycling now, so I just added a little CuC.

    Equipment:

    Zetlight Mini
    Maxi-jet 600 for a return pump
Petco powerhead from my 29 gallon
Filter floss in the 1st chamber
50w heater from the 29 gallon

    Future Equipment Purchases:

Some sort of ATO, as I can imagine how much I would need to manually top off if I didn't get one.

    Livestock:

    5 Astraea Snails
    8 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs

    Future Livestock Purchases:

A lot of Zoas and Palys, and maybe a few LPS's. We'll see once I go to MACNA :) I'll probably stay fishless for this build.

    Parameters:

    Sg: 1.025
    Ammonia: 0 ppm
    Nitrite: 0 ppm
    Nitrate: 5 ppm
    Temp: 81 F

Here are some pics of the tank. The CuC is working hard already. I added them about 2 hours before these pictures were taken.

I will update as the build progresses.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Great Cam.

I used to love Aquapods, wish I still had mine.

You can do a lot with nanos and fairly cheaply.

Congrats on getting it up and going.

Thanks! I was sure I wasn't going to set up another tank, but like people say, once you're in the hobby, you can't get out ::)

So the clean up crew is doing an awesome job. I'd say about 1/3 of the algae on the rocks is gone, and the algae on the sandbed is getting torn up from the hermit crabs.

So I figured I would ask you all before I made any purchases. What do you think I should put in this tank? I'm not really sure what I could grow with the Zetlight Mini, so I probably won't do any SPS.

Thanks :) Do you think I should get some sort of Shrimp or Crab? I was thinking maybe a Cleaner Shrimp, but I'm not sure yet.

So I just got back from my LFS. I picked up two Zoa frags and a Green Florida Ricordea. I also met SSDennis and CBsurfrider (Nice to meet you guys :) )

I'll get pictures of the corals after they're done acclimating.

Nice tank, a few LPS on the sand would be nice, along with some pretty macro algae (For the rocks) :)
