First of all, Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has an awesome day :)

Second, I have been filling my tank with fresh RO/DI and decided to put some Reef Crystals sea salt in it so it would be mixed by the time I put my rock sculpture in. I noticed a lot of it isn't dissolving and is just swirling around at the bottom. I'm using my WP25 for water movement and it's been about 12 hours now. Is this normal? If not, what should I do?

Cam... it can be normal I believe... What is the temp of the water? Usually if its cold it will take longer to dissolve the salt compared to when it is at tank temp. Merry Christmas buddy! and congrats on the Cube. I have a 60 cube... and I know youre probably not looking to upgrade quite yet.. but I put my 60 on half of a 120 gallon stand so I could use a bigger sump and have more storage. On the other half of the stand I have just a tiled piece of plywood. Just an idea for you down the road!

Okay yeah the water is pretty cold, so I guess that's what's going on. I'll put a heater in the tank. I like the idea of the bigger stand. I'll definitely remember that if I ever decide I need more room. Thanks for your help and for the kind words :)

Here's what I'm talking about, by the way. I put a heater in. That should help, right?

yes, the heater should help Cam! I recently bought some seachem salt and it remained kind of cloudy for a bit after mixing. I think I was so used to the immediate dissolving IO.

Well I had always used Reef Crystals and IO and they always dissolved relatively quickly, so that's why I was confused. I'll let it keep running overnight and see if anything changes. The good news is the tank is filled and fully operational!

Thanks! I appreciate it! And I'm going for a bonsai minimalist style SPS tank :) We all forget things. It's nothing to worry about ;)
