    The Cadlights PLS-100 Pipeless skimmer. It said on the site that it needs a water level of 7-10".

    Then there you go. Do an 8" baffle and the actual height will be 8.25" or so, which will be just fine.

    Given those dimensions, I'd probably just split that 10g in two; makes both sides about the same size.

    8" height for baffle. if your running the PLS-100 which was a great decision on your part to get. Mine is pulling some nasty stuff lately and couldn't be happier.

    most skimmers are between 5-8

    I don't see why not. There's no reason you can't be pumping from the skimmer section.

    Depends on the style; the ones with the pump outside the body, yes. But all of those with the pump inside the body, 8-10 is common. Also depends on the size of the skimmers we're talking about.

    Now the question is: how many baffles and what arrangement?

    If it were me: 2 baffles, over under. 1.5" spacing.
