So one Peppermint Shrimp was eaten by my Maxi Mini. It caused an ammonia spike which killed another Peppermint Shrimp. I did a water change before and after the second one died and added some Prime to the water for the second water change. I'm planning on doing another water change tomorrow.

I'm also having some GHA, bubble algae, and cyano growing, so, although I vowed against doing this, I may add an Emerald Crab, unless there are any other options.

I might also get an algae eating Nudibranch. My LFS rents them out, so that's a plus because they're basically free.

I may also get another powerhead for the cyano problem.

Did the LFS cut the anemone?

I wasn't able to cut the big Maxi Mini Anemone, so I'm leaving it alone for now. It's the one that ate the Peppermint.

The little Maxi Mini was cut by my LFS and it's pretty much a full Anemone now.

I just went and picked up a White Torch Coral. My ammonia is almost completely gone as well :)

Good news Cam! Tank is looking nice...I'd really like to see it without the intense blues....

Funny you should say, I was driving around today and thought about different things that a LFS could "rent" and you would only pay for it if it died in your care. I suppose the possibilities are endless.

As for your shrimp.....I've found over time, and some plain dumb luck, that if I got all my parameters exactly like my LFS's water, I had almost zero loss to any of my additions. The only draw back was a fire shrimp that just couldn't get it's stress molt off and died in it's own skin.......That's such a terrible way to go if you ask me.

Thanks! I may take down my pico reef and add the white lighting back to the tank :)

That's cool! What do they rent out?

That's good info. I'm not too worried about the Shrimp, though. He seems to be doing fine, so I'm not too worried.
