I forget some s ort of Sony Cypershot in the 10-14MP range. Bought it a year ago and it survived a 50 foot fall off a balcony in jamaica with only loosing the battery as damage. Has the panoramtic mode which is nice. My wide has a Nikson D3000 I think but I forget. She doesnt have a macro lens though but i think it would still take better pics than the Sony if only I could figure its settings!

Well I can't afford the Nikon lol. Would something like this take good pics of my tank?

Sony Cybershot DSCWX150 18MP Digital Camera with... : Target

Also, Is there a DSLR camera near that price range?

Sorry everyone. I've been sick in bed all day. Here are a few pics and a short video to show the shimmer:

    With all lights on:

With just the Zetlight on (The light is very bright for its size!):

Short video (I connected the light to my CPR HOB skimmer for now until I figure out a permanent solution):

Bump for anyone who's interested. Also, would the GoPro Hero3 be a good camera option?

Looking good buddy! Personally, if I was looking into a cheap(er) camera, I would go for the Canon S100. It is the camera Chris (Biocube) has and obviously his images are fantastic. The camera feels great in your hands and has quite a lot of tool and shooting options. I'm personally a Nikon guy, but for the price this will suit your needs best IMO. But keep in mind, the camera is only as good as the photographer using it. Learning the basics of photography and playing around with your camera will produce far better results than continuing to use the preset modes. Either way, keep up the good work on the tank!

That's definitely more than I was planning on spending, but maybe if I save up some more and get my parents' approval :)

Update: I just picked up a Pocillopora frag and a Maxi Mini (Is it pronounced "Maxi Mini" or "Mini Maxi"?) Anemone ;D

I'll upload pics after I acclimate them.
