Gosh Cam, I wish I could think of a good idea for you....How many corals do you have? and what is your equipment again? I'm sure you can get something for your tank.....there was a reefer on here recently that bleached his whole system and kept his live stock in a separate tank....I can't remember who it was - you may try something like that as a solution......

That may work. Will it eat Caulerpa?

I mean with all of my livestock and equipment.

Thanks :) I wish that was possible.

Thanks for all of your help and advice :) I have over 20 different species of corals. I have a fishneedit 2 bulb T5 fixture with Giesemann Actinic+ bulbs that are 3 months old, a Zetlight mini, a simple powerhead for flow, a CPR HOB skimmer, and a simple 50w heater.

Bleaching the tank seems like a lot more work than just restarting, though :-/ I've also wanted to try experimenting with different scapes with dry rock.

I may try that. It's just that there are a bunch of different things popping up (GHA, bubble algae, cyano, etc.) so I'm starting to think that starting from scratch may be the best idea. That is, unless the Nudibranch would get rid of all of it :p

Do you have a picture of this calurpa issue? What do you use for water changes and what is your flow? How often do you feed?

I feel like we can overcome this without starting over.

I can get a picture when the lights come on tomorrow, but I'm not joking when I say that it has covered the entire left side of my tank. I have been using RO/DI from my LFS for a while, and it's never been a problem. I'm setting up my own system from Spectrapure, though. I have a 700gph petco powerhead (I'm getting a Koralia 750 or 1050 soon), I feed my one Chromis a little pinch of flake food every 2 days.

I think we need to get that flow up a bit. Your LFS may have had an old filter leading to nutrient problems. I had a spot of calurpa pop up twice and each time it disappeared in days. I think my peppermint or green emerald took care of it.

I have a Peppermint Shrimp that hasn't really done anything :-/ I'll definitely bump up the flow and start using my own water.

An emerald crab is a very good addition as well for algae.
