It's not a bad camera, Canon is my choice of camera. BUT if you buy a Point and Shoot without full control you will have a hard time taking pictures of your coral.

If you don't think you'll be able to save up and buy the S100 then buy the next model down in your budget.

I never said it was a bad camera. Canon makes some very nice cameras. I personally dont like most of them because their interface is very different than Nikon and in my opinion, its difficult to navigate and doesnt make much sense. Their Rebel series to me (entry level DSLR) feels like a toy in your hands. Almost as if it could break if you look at it the wrong way. Id prefer Nikon over Canon in regards to most cameras, but considering your budget and the quality of this camera I dont think you can beat it. It feels so solid in your hands, its easy to use, and highly capable as Chris's pictures show. I really didnt believe this camera was worth it until I played with Chris's: it made me eat my words of doubt, thats for sure. 100 bucks more buys you a camera that can run with a DSLR if you know what you are doing with it. That speaks for itself when most point and shoots in this market simply cant compare.

Well my parents already went shopping, so we'll see how it goes :)

Trust me, it was hard enough convincing them to let me get a camera in the first place.

I actually got a Fujifilm Finepix AX550 and the pictures are coming out great! I'll upload them when I have the time.

Update: Everything's looking great! I was worried about the Pocillopora because I didn't see much polyp extension, but I guess it was just acclimating to the tank. It looks just like when it was in the LFS's tank.

Also, I was worried about my Maxi Mini because it it went half way into a little crack in the LR, but it has since come out, and it looks like it's splitting! I've never had this much luck in my tank before! :D

Again, I'll post pics when I have my camera and when I have time ;)

And my camera cable is in my dad's car  I'll see him later today.

Quick question: I don't have any fish or inverts besides Snails in my tank; only corals. Will the Maxi Mini eat anything that I put in the tank? I was thinking about adding a Fire, Sexy Dancer, or Cleaner Shrimp. Will it eat the Shrimp?

I have not personally heard of maxi minis eating shrimp. I would assume it could happen but the shrimp would have to be near dead.
