    The example being frogspawn.

I had a small piece that grew into a large piece, I then fragged the large piece into two medium pieces.

They are fairly close together now and are becoming large pieces again ... and are very close to being able to touch eachother.

Can frogspawn sting and kill frogspawn?

What about SPS, can acro branches that touch sting eachother ... if they are all part of the same coral?

Here are some pictures to show what I mean.

    All euphyllia can co-exist.........
    EDIT: Nice pieces of frogspawn.
EDITEDIT: Hammer coral instead I think. Can you get a better (closer) pic of it?

(Yes. If it is fragged from the same colony there should, in theory, be no aggressive behavior towards each other. Coral first has to recognize something as distinctly non-self (immune system) before id attacks/injures it. Otherwise large colonies would destroy themselves. If they are genetically identical, they can even be grafted together easily and grow into each other. If you have two heads of frogspawn (from the same colony) very close together, that would be no different than those same heads being close in a single colony.)*

And that should hold true for all other types of coral.

    * At least that's my under standing of how it works.

As far as I know, missionsix is correct.....euphyllia can coexist. Which means all frogspawns, hammers, torches, ect can touch without stinging each other regardless of the mother colony. Some have noticed exceptions to the rules though. If there is a "sting-off", move the coral.

    That must look awesome.

My biggest tiff with LPS is that they are so aggressive, and need so much space.

Hammer, Torch, Frogspawn ... are absolutely my faves.

hearing this from you makes me want to get a hammer or a torch of a different color variety and put it in the same corner, it would look phenomenal.

Funny, I've always read that torches didn't play well with other euphyllias. That'll teach me to believe everything that I read :D
