I have a MH fixture in my basement that was used for a growlight a few years ago. It is sitting down there gathering dust and I wondered if it would be possible to use to light a reef. This is the label off the fixture:

And this is the light I found on Ebay that is supposedly a 20k.

I may very well be missing something here. If there is a way to use the fixture rather than just storing it, I would like to do so. Thanks for any input.

Well you would need a ballast and a reef colored bulb but ya the reflector should work!

The fixture is ballasted. My main concern was the bulb. I am not sure if the bulb I am looking at would be appropriate. If it is not, I would appreciate knowing if anyone has suggestions on one that would fit in that fixture (if there is one!).

20,000k is a little blue, but some people like it. The bulb will work and I would use it, just keep it all cool. I used my old grow light as well at one point LOL
