One question, though- why do you think your tank is high in nutrients? Do you have algae issues or have you tested the water and seen high numbers? While your current selection of corals appreciate elevated nutrients, they don't have to be too high for SPS to survive.

Also, what type of lighting do you have? Mushrooms, leathers, etc can thrive quite well under PC or a couple of T5s, but even a Monti would need much more.

I have a 12 bulb T5HO set up from marine land. Supposed to be enough for SPS to thrive.

I do have alage but not an "issue" per say. I was thinking it was mainly because My leathers are not just "growing" they are literally just Thriving and reproducing.
I thought it could of been because of the leathers that the SPS died but I was running a lot of carbon so I wasn't sure.
I've always wanted a skimmer for the clearer and cleaner water. Possibly reducing some of the algae I have. ( which is not bad per say, but it can be better).

This is how my tank looked like around 4 or so months ago. The leather is probably 20% bigger. The kenya budded like 10 times since then.. Im trading all those frags for different corals.
