Can anyone id this crab.

    Local fish supplier has some of these in, and he has them in with his corals etc. He says they'll be safe to put in our tank with all the other stuff (see sig) but I'm not sure if I really want him or not. The wife has an eye for him though so there's an arguement brewing here.

    Is he going to be safe to put in or can I use this to put her off? It's a big pic so I'll just post the link.

    It looks to be an Emerald Crab They are known to pick "bubble algae" off your LR and consume them.(not so sure if this is fact or not ) Reports vary with these crabs, sometimes good and sometimes bad. Reef-safe-ish, at least while they are small. Keep an eye on them. :-/ John

    Well JMO But I don't trust any crabs, The only ones I have are Hermit Crabs and I don't even trust them 100% But as I said this is JMO!! ;) :-X John

    i had one of these once and it did chew off my ocellaris. there not really trustworthy jmo.

    I had hermit crabs and they ate my polyps.

    hermit crabs are the aquatic spawn of satan himself....but that's just my opinion;) .
