    beach, along with like 10 others just like it, but different coloration.

    I would say it's a Nerite snail.

    Nerita versicolor found from Florida to Venezuela, W. Indies

    Not to sure about it being a nerite....nerite dont have an elongated siphon like that. Id guess it to be a nassarius snail or at least something along those lines.

    That's not an elongated siphon, that's it's antenna. Look at the picture again, and you should see two of them. One points down at 6 o'clock and the other points to the right at 3 o'clock.

    yeah i see it now :) what i was originally seeing in the photo was that one antennae in the back and the snail looked to be going down into the sand...which is where my nassarius thought came from.
