The flex PVC I have is curled up sort of from the roll. I want to straighten it and curve a part. I heard you can heat it then cool it. Is that true???

Hair dryer, heat gun, hot water??? Got plenty to do tomorrow, don't want to waste any dorkin around.

    Thanks.

If you boil water and put it in there you may be able to warp it for a short amount of time. However, it may leach bad things into the water. I don't think PVC has anything bad in it, but you should double check that. Why not just buy some straight PVC?

I need the flex. IT needs to bend around some stuff. I just wan tto get rid of the curve that is in it now from being on the roll in the store. If all else fails, I can secure it.

Oh, right. I misread your post. To answer your question, probably. I have never tried it with PVC, but I have curved other plastic by dipping it in boiling water for 30-60 seconds, depending on the thickness of the plastic and gently warping it. I would think it would work for PVC too. Another thing to look at is soft tubing.

How about you put it in a tub of hot water and place a 2x4 and blocks on it?

I have not used flex PVC,but if i have a curled stiff peace of vinyl tube i need to straighten out i heat it with a heat gun till its soft and hot then hold it straight and dip it in cool water. for the most part it will hold the shape i am holding it in when i quench it. i also bend Plexiglas this way.
