can i add CuC with no fish

can you put a CuC in a tank with no fish and ghost feed the tank, or will they need the waste of the fish to survive
the tank would only be fishless for a few weeks till i can find a LFS that can order the fish i want in (will be checking out a few near by )
if anyone from SW FL knows of any good LFS plz let me know

 

I would think that they would be fine as long as you ghost feed the tank and make sure that there's some algae (or nori) in the tank

How far north would you travel for a store?

 

no farther then the north port Sarasota area (Sarasota is an hour drive from where im at)
ive heard of a few in ft myers that i was goign to check out

 

Well I live in Central Florida, so I would know much about the LFS's down there. Sorry :-/ I could definitely help you out if you ever decide to come up here, though.

 

The answer is yes, they can and will survive if you still feed the tank. I feed my 46BF every other day, which only has various snails (including nassarius) and a single hermit. I am leaving the tank fallow for 2 months to ensure it is free of Ich. One month in so far...

 

ok good cause my wife would kill me if i ordered offline she dont like the fact they would ship a fish through the mail. so i have to do a LFS

 

I've had good success with getting fish via mail from LiveAquaria.

The LFS gets them in through the mail too.

+1 on ghost feeding for the CUC.

 

tried explaining that lfs get them via mail i guess its the outsight outamind thing

 

I used to live across the bridge in port charlotte. You can keep that heat. Lol.

 

Ive noticed one thing about my wife, If I try to say its cool she will not listen. If someone else says its cool, whole new ball game HA!
